"My grandson, Liam (age 8), and I played "what's the deal" for the first time last night. We had a great time doing this together! I first reviewed everything with him, how to play the game and the values and skills so he would understand what we were trying to accomplish. Then we did a scenario. I want to tell you, we had such a great discussion on what he felt this scenario was about and how Fiona could handle the situation. He even offered up similiar experiences he had in his life. He loved recording his thoughts and solutions on the notepad included and really got into identifying the right values and skills involved. After completing the first scenario, he kept asking to do more. We went through three scenarios together with a lively, great, and sometime very funny, conversation between us. At one point, he was lieing back with hands behind his head, looking at the ceiling and talking. Who could ask for more?"
"As a brand new Big Sister, I had the chance to use "what's the deal?" this past weekiend with my new Little Sister. She noticed the game box and asked about it. So, at her request, we explored the contents and started playing the game. The story cards provided a great way for us to get to know each other better - no teaching or lectures. We just shared how we saw the challenges. It was so much fun she asked if we can play again for our next visit. Thank you."
"I played "what's the deal?" with my daughter and unexpected conversations unfolded right before our very ears. Things that maybe we'd never discuss became exciting and almost unstoppable. My daughter is 12 and she loved it."
“My two grandchildren, their mother and I were sitting around playing "what's the deal?" All of a sudden the conversation turned into this wonderful discussion about the values that Luke and Fiona were dealing with in school. My grandchildren really started talking and giving their opinion on what they thought Fiona and Luke should do. It was so exciting to see them so engaged in the conversation together. Thank you, ethiKids!"
"As an educator, I can definitely appreciate this product as a tool for guidance counselors, crisis intervention people, teachers, students, and parents. We have so many kids who struggle with dysfunctional families, terminally ill siblings or parents, in addition to the pressures of the outside world. Each day is a challenge for them. Addressing issues in a non-invasive way is a first step.”
“ethiKids requires children to think beyond themselves and about the world and people around them. These materials teach parents how to help children build character and develop a strong moral compass to guide their children through their lives.”
